Every job I have ever had has prepared me for this moment.
If I think about every job I’ve ever had, there is at least one piece of it which has prepared me for the future. I got my first taste of supply chain & distribution work hauling gardening equipment into trucks during some hot summer work between college classes. Flash forward a few years and I’ve been a graphic designer, web designer, flash developer, teacher, course developer, and for the past decade, an instructional designer.
You see, the field of instructional design didn’t exist yet when I was in school. If it had, I would have taken it in a heartbeat. But in a way, I am glad it didn’t. Otherwise, I would not have this delightfully perfect set of skills crafted over years of different experiences, and I think I am ready for my next chapter.
